Date rape drugs will be focus of seminar

JACKSON — The Jackson Commun-ity Alliance will be presenting a seminar for all teen-agers and parents on the topic of date rape drugs. This free program will be held at the Jackson Senior Center, Don Connor Boulevard, on April 2 at 7:30 p.m.

All minors attending must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must be at least 13 years of age.

Date Rape Drug Education Project Director Ellen Bloom of 180 (formerly the Women’s Center of Monmouth County) will facilitate the program. Bloom is certified in the field of date rape drug education and has presented this program to police and rape-counseling organizations throughout the East Coast, according to a press release.

Seating is limited and will be on a first-call, first-served basis. Preregistration is required. To register call Joe Kienzlen at (732) 363-1346 and leave name, number of people wishing to attend, and telephone number.
