Bulletin Board The Golden Tones, a choral group made up of 40 senior residents of Green-briar at Winding Ways in Jackson, is currently rehearsing selections from Guys and Dolls. Local firehouse to host dance, fund-raiser The Jill Wick Crusade and the Wick family are presenting "Angel Wish," a dinner-dance fund-raiser, on May 17. The event is being held at the Jackson Mills firehouse on County Line Road and will include a raffle/auction of donated items. This event is being held to help defray medical costs for 20-year-old Jill Wick who, at age 18, unexpectedly collapsed into a vegetative coma. A CAT scan revealed she had suffered a massive brain hemorrhage resulting in a coma that lasted for many months. Tickets are $25 and will include dinner and live entertainment provided by the band Premonition. Preservation society to award residents The Jackson Historical and Cultural Commission, together with the Jackson Township Preservation Society, recently announced it will honor the following citizens for their efforts in aiding other residents of Jackson: Dr. Vincent DeMuro, former Jackson Mayor Vicki Rickabaugh, the entire membership of the Jackson Arts Council, Alan Downing, Lisa Fitzgerald-Downing, and Jennifer Clarke. The presentation of awards will be held May 19 at 2 p.m. at the Jackson municipal building. Attendees are the guests of Jackson. For more information call (732) 363-1923. Writers’ group to meet at Jackson library The newly formed writers’ group in Jackson holds meetings the third Wednes-day of each month from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Jackson branch of the Ocean County Library, 2 Jackson Drive. The group discusses writing, publishing and shares ideas. Participants are asked to bring a notebook to meetings. New members are always welcome and are asked to bring samples of their writing to the first meeting they attend. Members should be 16 years of age and up. Senior center to celebrate anniversary The Jackson Senior Citizens Commun-ity Center, 45 Don Connor Blvd., will host an anniversary dinner-dance June 7 at noon.
