Donations sought by The "Suited for Success" boutique is a welfare-to-work program sponsored by the Lakewood Board of Education and administered by the Lakewood Community School. The boutique provides a retail-like environment where women without appropriate workplace clothing can find apparel. In addition, women without skills can be trained in retail. The Boutique is in the Princeton Avenue Administration Building at 655 Princeton Ave. and is presently ac-cepting donations of gently used women’s clothing and accessories. Local dance school celebrates anniversary The students of the Barbara Hartl School of Dancing performed in the school’s 35th anniversary dance recital "United We Dance" at Lakewood High School June 22. Perfect attendance awards were presented to: Patricia-Meyer, 13 years, Raelynn Miller, 12 years, Theresa Geiger, 8 years, perfect attendance for two classes, Stephanie Russo, 6 years, Kelly Rabkin, 5 years, Lisa Donnelly, two classes, Kaylah Briscoe, Melaine King, Bianca Guzman, Candice Horhn, Allison Horhn, Chelsea Horhn, Brittany Albis, Elaina Lawson, Tiffany Parente, Casey Lombardo, Ashley Nowell, and Jasmine Vaccaro. Five-year dance awards were presented to Cassie Costa, Lisa Donnelly, Lauren Goldman, Sadie Green, Casey Lombardo and Rose Rivera. Ten-year dance awards were presented to Lauren Goralski and Rachel Schneider. A 15-year dance award was presented to Patricia Meyer. Patricia also won the Promotions award for selling the most program ads and boosters. Jazmyn Barillari received the Golden Ticket award for selling the most recital tickets. Graduating students receiving gold charms were Melissa Hanhart and Patricia Meyer. The alumni dancers who performed at the show also performed at the 80th birthday celebration of the Strand Theatre in July. Barbara Hartl was presented with a joint resolution from the N.J. State Senate and a proclamation from the Township of Lakewood, commending her on 35 years of dedication in teaching dance to the children of Lakewood and the surrounding towns. The school will resume classes for the 2002-2003 term Sept. 16. Registration begins Aug.10. Barbara Hartl is a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette, and has been teaching in Lakewood for 35 years. Police seek cell phones The Freehold Township Police Depart-ment’s Community Services Unit is collecting cellular phones for the Verizon Wireless "Hopeline Phone Recycling Program." A drop-off box is located in the foyer of Freehold Township police headquarters, corner of Schanck and Stillwells Corner roads, where cell phones may be dropped off until Aug. 25.
