DOROTHY VERONICA PATOCK, 58, of Jackson, died July 23 in Jackson. She was born in Newark and resided in Neptune before relocating to Jackson six months ago. She was employed as a receptionist for the law firm Madnick, Millstein, Mason, Weber, Farnsworth and Collazo, retiring in 2000. Surviving are her husband, Thomas J.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sean P. and Lynda Patock of New Bedford, Mass., and Mark T. Patock of West Long Branch; a former daughter-in-law, Alison Patock of Neptune; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Eve Hornlein of Old Bridge; and three grandchildren. Services were held at Hamilton United Methodist Church, Neptune.

OLGA ZARKEVICH, 98, of Freehold, died July 15 at John L. Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Zarkevich was born in Russia and had lived in Freehold for 55 years. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, Jackson. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore, who died in 1977. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Church, followed by interment at St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Jackson.

KEITH PATRICK LAVDEN, 12, of Howell, died July 14 at home. Born in Lakewood, he was a lifelong resident of Howell. Keith was a seventh-grade student at Howell Middle School North. He played baseball in the North Howell Little League. Surviving are his parents, Walter and Paula Nocera Lavden; a sister, Gabrielle Anna; his maternal grandmother, Carol Nocera of Howell; his uncles and aunts, Jeff and Margarita Palomo, and Kevin, Donna and Ann Lavden; and his cousins, Ashley, John, Nicky, Margarita and Christopher.

RUSSELL F. TERHUNE, 49, of Middletown, died July 20 as a result of injuries from a plane crash in Jackson. Born in Red Bank, he lived in Middletown most of his life. He was a sheet metal worker at Bonland, Wayne, for 29 years. He was a member of Sheetmetal Local No. 25, Carlstadt. He was an active airplane enthusiast, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 29 years and his daughter, Nancy Hock Terhune and Danielle Terhune of Middletown; his parents, Frederick and Wilma Terhune of Farmingdale; his brother, Earl Terhune of Jackson; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth Rye of the Belford section of Middletown, Terrie Carney of San Diego, Calif., and Star and Stephen Krist of Farmingdale; and several nieces and nephews.

FELICISIMA ARENAL SANTOS, 83, of Freehold Township, died July 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in the Philippines, she came to the United States in 1981 and lived in Howell before moving to Freehold Township 13 years ago. Mrs. Santos was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her husband, Gaudencio M., who died in 1977. Surviving are five sons, Willie of Howell, Pete and Flor, both of the Philippines, and Teddy and Joe, both of Jackson; two daughters, Fely Perez of Jackson and Angieh Santos of Freehold Township; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

KATHERINE PELIOTIS, 87, of Lakewood, died July 15 in Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Peliotis was born in New York City and had lived there before moving to Lakewood. She was a homemaker and was predeceased by her husband, Steve. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Palazzo of Toms River; three grandchildren; and a niece, Sharon Megill of Farmingdale. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.

STEPHEN WILLIAM SHUTZER SR., 51, of Jackson, died July 23 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Neptune and had lived in Freehold Township before moving to Scotts Bluff, Neb., and then Lincoln, Neb. He lived in Nebraska for 22 years before moving to Jackson three months ago. Mr. Shutzer was a counselor for the Nebraska State Correctional Facility in Lincoln. Prior to that he was a police officer in Scotts Bluff, Neb., and in Seaside. He was a graduate of Freehold High School. Surviving are a son, Stephen W. Shutzer Jr. of Lincoln, Neb.; his mother, Ella Louk Shutzer of Jackson; and a sister, Cynthia L. Grant of Marlboro. Services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills 08015.
