Auditions

Ocean County College Theatre Company, Toms River, will hold open auditions for its fall production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Sept. 15-16 at 7:30 p.m. Needed are four males and 15 females. Callback date is Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Auditions are open to all. Scripts are available on reserve in the OCC Library. Performance dates are Nov. 13-16 and 21-22. The campus is on College Drive in Toms River.

Garden State Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will hold auditions for the 2003-04 season Sept. 17 and 22 from 6-9 p.m. at Toms River Intermediate School West, 150 Intermediate West Way. Placement in the three-tiered program is open to young musicians in grades 6-12 and is determined by audition. The orchestra also has announced that it has two Youth Orchestra position openings: String Ensemble conductor (elementary level) and Symphonic Youth Orchestra coach (high school level) for the 2003-04 season. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings in Toms River; there are two concerts per school year, and some additional community performances. New Jersey Chamber Singers Children’s Chorus (grades 4-8, girls and boys with unchanged voices) and Youth Chorale (grades 8-12) will hold auditions the first week of September. The Children’s Chorus rehearses Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning Sept. 18. Tuition for the semester is $150. The newly formed Youth Chorale rehearses Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m., beginning Sept. 17. Tuition is $175. Both groups are under the direction of Christine Sezer and will meet in the Howell, Farmingdale or Freehold area.
