Elvis impersonator convention March 14

The Toms River Ramada Inn, Routes 70 and 9, will once again be the stopping point for pink Cadillacs, rhinestone jumpsuits and blue suede shoes on March 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as the third annual "Elvis Impersonator" convention returns.

The event will pay tribute to Elvis Presley, the "King of Rock and Roll," and honor the 50th anniversary of his first recording, "That’s All Right, Mama."

The event will feature live re-created concerts by professional artists from across the country including, Jerry El, Terry Collins, Mike Black, Andrew Howard, Ray Kaminski, David Sneddon, Paul Aron, Mike Marchitto, Paul Daniels, Mike Ratcliffe, Rick Spruill, Jim Smith, Joe Searles, Dan Patrick, Mark Reno, Ray Hoffman, Chris Presley and Gene Dinapoli.

Special guests Bill Turner of Bill Haley and the Comets, and radio DJ Bud Francis, who hosts the "Memories of Radio" show on Cruisin’ 92.1 will make appearances. In addition, there will be vendors of rock and roll memorabilia and Elvis novelties.

The event, sponsored by Howard Enterprises, B&K enterprises, Zanzibarentertainment and Golden Voice performance tracks, will donate a portion of ticket sales to the Kentuckiana Cancer research center. The cost for tickets is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and free for children under 10 when accompanied by an adult. Details: (732) 901-5413.
