Marion Blackmon

Mrs. Blackmon, 58, of Middletown died June 22 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born and raised in Bayonne, she resided in Middletown most of her life. She was a school bus aide in the Aberdeen area for several years. She is survived by a daughter, Laura Siminsky of Hazlet; four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Laurie Siminsky Jr. of Middletown; John and Beth Siminsky of Whiting; George and Allison Siminsky of Edison; Robert and Tracey Blackmon Jr. of Keyport; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Nancy Centimole of Bayonne, and Edward and Cheryl Latko of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Marie Burns of Howell, and Sandy Latko of Bayonne; and 10 grandchildren. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

Rose M. Moccardi

Mrs. Moccardi, 77, of Jackson died June 24 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in New York City, she had lived in Highland Lakes for seven years and Holiday City, Toms River, for six years before moving to Jackson 15 years ago. She was a member of Lakewood Elks Lodge No. 1432, where she was active in helping crippled children. Mrs. Moccardi was predeceased in 1974 by her husband, Frank J. Moccardi. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore P. and Lori Moccardi of Jackson; a daughter, Denice Carney of Lawrenceville; a brother, Joseph DeLauro of Cheshire, Conn.; her companion of 28 years, Stanley Zavist; two stepchildren, Stanley Zavist Jr. of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Cheryl Zavist of Manasquan; two grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held at Oliverie Funeral Home, Manchester, followed by interment at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston.

John A. Ciaglia

Mr. Ciaglia, 87, of Long Branch died June 25 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Newark, he resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Long Branch 64 years ago. Mr. Ciaglia was a lead man at Bendix Corp., Eatontown, for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was predeceased by a brother, Vincent "Jimmy" Ciaglia; and a sister, Carmella Gargulio. Mr. Ciaglia is survived by his wife, Rose Sirianni Ciaglia; a son, John C. Ciaglia of Long Branch; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jean Germann of Jamesburg, and Arlene and Tullio Di Fedele of Howell; a brother, Joseph Ciaglia of West Long Branch; a sister, Nancy Congro of Freehold; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Trinity Church. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements.

Abby Blair Klein

Ms. Klein, 21, of Freehold Township died June 27 following complications from a March automobile accident in Piscataway. A 2001 graduate of Freehold Township High School, she was a junior at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, majoring in exercise science. She was also an assistant trainer for the Rutgers University football team. Surviving are her mother, Judy Klein of Freehold; her father, Louis Klein of Jackson; a twin brother, Jared, of Freehold; a sister, Rachael Klein, also of Freehold; her grandmother, Elaine Brodsky of Toms River; her stepmother, Bernice Klein of Jackson; and two stepbrothers, Sam Brandenberg of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Zac Brandenberg of Los Angeles. Funeral services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Virginia D. Subowicz

Mrs. Subowicz, 73, of the Leonardo section of Middletown, died June 28 at Laurel Bay Nursing Home, Keansburg. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Leonardo the past 49 years. She was employed at The Leonardo Senior Citizens Center, retiring in 2002. Prior to that, she was employed at various local bus companies and at the Leonardo Welfare Board. Mrs. Subowicz was predeceased by her husband, Felix; and a brother, William. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Noreen and Gordon Frank of Howell, and Cecilia Gracin of Leonardo; a son, Mark Subowicz of Leonardo; three granddaughters; and one great-grandson. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Sylvia Skidmore

Mrs. Skidmore, 72, of Jackson died June 29 at Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation, Jackson. Born in Long Branch, she had resided in Freehold for most of her life before moving to Jackson. A graduate of Freehold Borough High School and Beaver College, Glenside, Pa., she worked as an art teacher for 34 years, retiring from the Freehold Borough Intermediate School. Prior to that, she had taught at Freehold Borough High School and River Street Elementary School, Red Bank. She was predeceased in 1997 by her husband, Norman E. Skidmore. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Susan Skidmore of Jackson, and Keith and Darlene Skidmore of Howell; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Michael Flanagan

Mr. Flanagan, 65, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died June 30 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in County Laois, Ireland, he relocated to the United States in 1967 and had been a resident of Lincroft for the past 24 years. Mr. Flanagan was a mechanic at General Motors, Linden, for 25 yeas, retiring in 2000. Prior to that, he was employed at Midland Glass for nine years. He was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. He was a member of the United Auto Workers. Mr. Flanagan was predeceased by a brother, Jim Flanagan. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Rafferty Flanagan; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kimberly Flanagan of Howell; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Paul Bailey of Lincroft; four brothers, Dan, Tony, Patty and John, all of Ireland; three sisters, Betty and Nellie, of Ireland, and Maureen of Scotland; and one grandson. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Leo’s Church. Burial was at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Mid­dletown. Matthew Rose

Mr. Rose, 65, of Red Bank died July 7 at home. Born in Queens, N.Y., he resided in Monmouth Beach before moving to Red Bank 31 years ago. Mr. Rose was a cook at Basil T Leaf’s, Red Bank, before his retirement. He was predeceased by his father, Benjamin H. Rose. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dawn Earley Rose; two sons, Timothy Rose of Beaufort, S.C., and Michael Rose of Red Bank; a daughter, Ginger Intelli of Red Bank; his mother, Adeline Greene Rose of Shrewsbury Township; two brothers, Benjamin K. Rose of Eatontown and Robert Rose of Lakewood; and 10 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at a later date. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements.
