Strong spring season carries into summer

     JACKSON — The Jersey Shore Bombers, an under-14 travel baseball team, finished the spring season in the USABL with a regular season mark of 10-0. That earned the Bombers a berth into the playoffs, where they advanced to the semifinals before finally bowing out.

     JACKSON — The original plan was to give the team a shot at capturing a District 18 championship. By compiling a 2-1 mark in pool play, the Holbrook 11-year-old Little League all stars kept their dream alive by advancing to the bracket round.

     Joseph Tedeschi and Douglas Buckley were recently awarded the Jim Studley Scholarship by the Howell Intramural Hockey Club. The scholarship, named for one of the founders of the club, recognizes outstanding academic achievement, community involvement and support of the Hockey Club.
