Children helping children benefit & concert April 8

  • To raise money for Tsunami disaster relief, Shore Christian Center’s Eternity Youth Ministry will be hosting a “Children Helping Children” benefit concert featuring the New Jersey State Youth Orchestra (NJSYO). The traditional NJSYO spring concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 8 in the Shore Christian Center sanctuary.

Proceeds from this event will be channeled directly to Sri Lankan children affected by the Tsunami through two long-established outreaches in that region, the Lotus Bud Orphanage and the Heart of Compassion Ministry. Shore Christian Center has supported the organizations for some time, which makes distributing the funds easier and more efficient.

The youth will handle the greeting and ushering. Admission to this concert is free, but an offering will be taken. The proceeds will go directly to Sri Lanka.

A pre-concert catered dinner, served by the youth group, will be held in the church’s Family Life Center from 5 to 7 p.m. The charge for this professionally prepared meal, including coffee and dessert, will be $12 for adults and $7 for children.
