Art Beins Karate, Howell, will host “Halloween Treats for Those in Need” Oct. 28, 7-10:30 p.m. The event will feature a night of contests, shows, martial arts performances and other surprises. Beins is reaching out to more than 700 students from his karate schools in Howell and Freehold to aid in the Hurricane Katrina relief and rebuilding efforts. The Lakewood Chamber of Com-merce will host its next Industrial Luncheon on Nov. 2 at the Ramada Inn and Suites, 2373 Route 9, Toms River. Guest speaker Rick Kennedy, executive director of the Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council of Ocean County, will discuss “Substance Abuse in the Workplace; What Every Employer Should Know.” Networking will begin at 11:30 p.m. followed by lunch at noon. Five Ocean County chambers of commerce are joining together to present a networking trade show extravaganza for the business community. The Autumn Boardwalk/Beach event will take place at Jenkinson’s Pavilion at Point Pleasant Beach, Nov. 3 from 5-7 p.m. Participating chambers include Brick, Lakewood, Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach and Toms River. The event will feature trade table displays, pasta stations, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, giveaways, and a cash bar. There will also be door prizes and super prize drawings.
