Obituaries Frank G. Wilson Mr. Wilson, 54, of Howell, died Feb. 5 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived in Staten Island, N.Y. before moving to Howell 20 years ago. Mr. Wilson was a judicial clerk for the State of New Jersey Superior Court at the Monmouth County Courthouse, Freehold, for the past 17 years. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his daughter, Theresa Wilson of Howell; and two sisters, Kathie Wilson and Janet Gay, both of San Diego, Calif. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Howell. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Joseph John Tagliareni Mr. Tagliareni, 83, of Howell, died Feb. 6 at home. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Farmingdale before moving to Howell. Before his retirement, Mr. Tagliareni was a welder for New Jersey Electronics, Dayton. He served as a gunner’s mate on the USS Lavallette in the South Pacific during World War II. His wife of 52 years, Grace D. Tagliareni, died in 1995. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Tagliareni. Mr. Tagliareni is survived by a son, Thomas Tagliareni of Howell; four daughters, Cookie Cutter of Manahawkin, Barbara Marriott of Howell, Maryellen Tagliareni of Brick, and Shannon Tagliareni of Oregon; a sister, Betty Carrino of Rutherford; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Joseph P. Vigilante Mr. Vigilante, 52, of South Amboy, died Jan. 19 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. He was employed by Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local 27, Farmingdale, for more than 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Dooling Vigilante; a son, Joseph of South Amboy; a daughter, Lisa Shymko of Howell; two sisters, Marybeth Flanagan of Mount Penn, Pa., and Donna Vigilante of Freehold; a grandson; and aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, also South Amboy.
Raymond J. Owens Mr. Owens, 81, of Hazlet, died Feb. 1 at home. Born in Newark, he resided in Union prior to moving to Hazlet 47 years ago. He was a contract specialist at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 15 years, retiring in 1993. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. He enjoyed jazz music and travel. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Moritz; and a brother, Richard Owens. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen O’Hara Owens of Hazlet; three sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Jane Owens of Shrewsbury, Brian and Pamela Owens of Houston, and Stephen and Karen Owens of Middletown; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and John Ingram of Phoenix, Ariz., Katharine and Rick Koehler of Middletown, and Ellen and Bill Delucia of Jackson; a brother, Thomas Owens Jr. of Marco Island, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Helen A. Oldakowski Schall Mrs. Schall, 58, of Matawan, died Feb. 10 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Carteret, she resided in New Jersey most of her life. Mrs. Schall was a homemaker. She is survived by her children, Kelly and James Zinno of Matawan, Natalie and Joseph Mozdzen of Sayreville, and William and Penny Paparteys of Browns Mills; her mother, Natalie Kutcher of North Brunswick; four sisters, Donna Adamczyk of Cranford, Natalie Burke of Jackson, Patty Magnani of Sayreville, and Lauren Kutcher of North Brunswick; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial took place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. The Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, was in charge of arrangements.
