John L. Libby

Mr. Libby, 66, of Howell, died March 12 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Point Pleasant, he was a lifelong Howell resident. He was a mold maker for Saint-Gobain Containers, Carteret section of Woodbridge, for 14 years, and had previously worked for Brockway Glass Co., Freehold Township, for 22 years. He was also a member of the Gas Engine Club. Mr. Libby is survived by his wife, Eleanor A. Libby; a son and daughter-in-law, John II and Jennifer Libby of Manchester; a son, Robert Libby of Howell, and his fiance, Stephanie; a brother, Harlan Libby of Morrisville, Pa.; a sister, Carol Dalton of Beachwood; and three grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.

Maryella Sagan

Mrs. Sagan, 92, of Farmingdale, died March 12 at home. Born in Howell, she was a lifelong resident of the Farmingdale-Howell area. She was a cook at the Arthur Brisbane Child Treatment Center, Wall Township. She was also a member of West Farms United Methodist Church, Howell. Mrs. Sagan was predeceased by three husbands, Joseph Seeds Sr., Joseph Morvay and Michael Sagan; two brothers, Walter Clayton Jr. and Morris Y. Clayton; two sisters, Frances Megill and Doris K. Russie; and a grandson, Joseph Renwick Seeds III. Surviving are a son, Joseph Renwick Seeds Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.; two stepsons, Michael W. Sagan of Farmingdale and Gary Sagan of Jackson; a brother, Thomas A. Clayton of Howell; a sister, Elizabeth M. Gunther, also of Howell; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 10 step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. Interment was private, with Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to West Farms United Methodist Church, 153 Casino Drive, Farmingdale 07727.

Sylvia L. Oakley

Mrs. Oakley, 94, of Howell, died March 13 at home. Born in Freehold, she was a lifelong area resident. Prior to retiring in 1974, she was a teacher in the Howell school district. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Unity Club and Circle No. 2. Mrs. Oakley was predeceased in 1992 by her husband, Joseph H. Oakley, and in 1974 by a son, Ronald Bryden Oakley. She was also predeceased by a brother, Robert Marshall, and a sister, Babe Marshall. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Heather M. and Joseph Maghan of Howell; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Edna Agnitsch Squitieri

Mrs. Squitieri, 92, of Freehold Township, died March 12 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a longtime resident of Manhasset, N.Y. She later relocated with her husband to the Rossmoor active-adult community in Jamesburg. Following his death in 1994, she moved to Applewood Estates, Freehold Township. Mrs. Squitieri was past president of the Rosary Society at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset, and a life member of the Guild of St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, N.Y. In 1948, she founded St. Francis Hospital's nurse's aide program and also co-founded the hospital's thrift shop. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Charles J. Agnitsch, and a son, Dr. Robert Agnitsch. Surviving are a son, retired U.S. Navy Capt. Richard J. Agnitsch of Morris Plains; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen E. Nottage, also of Morris Plains; a stepdaughter, Lois Squitieri-Higley of Jackson; a stepson, Louis Richard Squitieri of Sanibel, Fla.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven nieces. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Interment took place at the Cemetery of Holy Rood in Westbury, N.Y. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Hospital Foundation, Development Office, 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, NY 11576.

Theresa Grace Phillips

Mrs. Phillips, 36, of Freehold, died March 14 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Newark, she had lived in Manalapan for 14 years before moving to Freehold. She was a case manager for Meridian Home Care, Wall Township. She was also a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Surviving are her husband, Michael W. Garrett; three children, Michael Anthony, Kevin Andrew and Brittany Grace, all at home; her parents, Patricia and Peter Di Cataldo of Manalapan; a brother, Peter Di Cataldo of Manalapan; and two sisters, Tina Cordero of Freehold and Tammi Kahn of Howell. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret M. Murphy Menville

Mrs. Menville, 86, of Union Beach, died March 15 at Care One at Holmdel. Born in Bayonne, she relocated to Union Beach in 1956. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of and former member of the Altar Rosary Society at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Menville; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Michele Menville of Haddonfield, Joan and Phil Misseldine of Howell, Mary Ellen and Vincent Yakoumakis of Matawan, and Barbara and Kenneth Buerkle of Jackson; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at Holy Family Church. Burial was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
