Obituaries Rosemary Ann Miller Lyle Mrs. Lyle, 82, of Jackson, died March 13 at Bartley Health Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Jackson. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., she moved to Howell in 1957 and lived there until 2005, when she entered Bartley Health Care. She was a communicant of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church, Howell, where she belonged to the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a volunteer for The Arc of Monmouth, Tinton Falls, and a member of the N.J. Guys & Dolls Bowling League. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed works by Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele. Mrs. Lyle was predeceased by her husband, John P. Lyle, and two sons, Robert and Brian Lyle. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Michael Caprio of Howell; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Gerard and Diane Lyle of Howell, James and Lynn Lyle of the New Egypt section of Plumsted, and Beth Lyle Vanderbeck of Point Pleasant; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Veronica's Church. Interment was private. Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements. John J. "Pete" Bennett Mr. Bennett, 86, of Freehold Township, died March 17 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was the former proprietor of the Battleground Inn, Colts Neck, and the Country Inn, Freehold Township. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European-African-Middle East campaign. He was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Harvey, Jan Hawkshurst and Catherine Riley; and three brothers, Albert Jr., Francis and Walter Bennett. Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Scott Bennett, both of Freehold Township, Jeffrey and Janet Bennett of Ocean Township, and Ronald and Valerie Bennett of Jackson; three grandchildren. Interment was at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown, Burlington County.
Joseph H. Chiarantano Mr. Chiarantano, 67, of Jackson, died March 18 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had resided there until moving to Jackson two years ago. Before his retirement in 2003, Mr. Chiarantano was an operating engineer for Operating Engineers Union Local 94 in New York City for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve. He was a member of the Central Jersey Italian American Cub, Jackson, and the Jackson Township Republican Cub. Mr. Chiarantano is survived by his wife, Camille; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Gino Mallamaci of Manalapan, and Catherine and Michael Aiello of Cedar Grove; and six grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan, followed by entombment at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Marlboro.
Marilyn Ann Rudd Mrs. Rudd, 78, of Neptune City, died March 24 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she was raised in Asbury Park and had lived in Ocean Township before moving to Neptune City in 1998. She was a bus driver for Laidlaw Bus Co., formerly Coast Cities, for 25 years. Mrs. Rudd is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Rudd of Ocean Grove, and Randy and Robin Rudd of Neptune City; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Bill McCandless of Jackson; six grandchildren; and lifelong friend Helen Camoosa. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
