Synagogue accepting donations for troops

Congregation Ahavat Achim, 106 Windeler Road, Howell, is participating in Operation Open ARMS (American Recreational Military Services), which is supported by the Howell Township mayor and council.

ARMS is a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of needed items to America's military forces serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. These items include spray (with DEET), powdered drink mixes, greeting cards, gel deodorant, snacks, writing supplies, sun block, chewing gum, hard candy, lip balm, etc. Travel-size items are suggested.

Those who have items to donate may drop them off at the collection box at the temple. For details, call (732) 367-1677.
