On Campus Michael Ryan DeRienzo, son of Kerri and Michael DeRienzo of Howell, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the University of Delaware, Newark, Del., where he is a student in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is majoring in communications and minoring in Spanish, and is currently interning with "The Early Show" at CBS News, New York City. DeRienzo is vice president of the Student Centers Programming Advisory Board (SCPAB), as well as a founder and member of the campus chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He is also active in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. In addition, DeRienzo studied abroad for six weeks in Puebla, Mexico, during Delaware's winter semester. He is scheduled to begin a fellowship in September through the school's communication department as a peer mentor for public speaking. A 2004 graduate of Howell High School, he will be a junior at the university in the fall.
