Lakewood elementary orchestra gets sweet deal

LAKEWOOD - Twenty-three members of the Lakewood Elementary Orchestra recently participated in the Music in the Parks Festival at Hershey Park, Hershey, Pa. The orchestra placed first in the Elementary Orchestra Division with a rating of Excellent. In addition, out of 12 elementary and middle school orchestras that participated, Lakewood won the Esprit de Corps Award for the third time in four years. This award is given to only one school at each music festival for the students' behavior, respect and support of the other ensembles competing at that time.
