The Jackson Soccer Club girls team, the Jackson Cheetahs, were declared co-champions in the U9 Girls Premier Division at the Hershey Kicks 4 Kids tournament June 17-18 in Hershey, Pa. The Kicks 4 Kids tournament is an invitational-only tournament run as a fundraiser for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps, which benefits children with cancer, serious blood diseases and other life-threatening illnesses. The tournament as been run since 2000, and to date has raised over $48,000 dollars for this charity.

The Cheetahs competed against top teams from New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania. On the first day of the tournament, in the preliminary round, the Cheetahs defeated the Randolph Rampage, a top team from Randolph, 1-0. The Cheetahs followed that with a 1-1 tie against the Fallston Freedom, a nationally ranked U9 Girls team from Fallston, Md.

On the second day of the tournament, the Cheetahs defeated the Monmouth/

Ocean Soccer Association spring 2006 U9 girls champions, the Old Bridge Thunder, 2-1, to advance. After playing to a 0-0 tie in 95-degree weather in the championship game against the Council Rock Rockets, a premier team from Bucks County, Pa., the coaches from both sides agreed to call the game a draw and declare both teams U9 Premier Division Co-Champions.

Members of the team include Alexandra Aldarelli, Jamie Casella, Lindsay Corallo, Becky Collimore, Faith DeLorenzo, Taylor Fellenz, Dannielle Hess, Taylor Higgins, Ana Mastrokalos, Tiffany Monte, Casey Perry, Madison Rajhel, Kari Shankle and Alyssa Weigle, all of Jackson.

A U12 girls Twin County soccer team playing in MOSA (age division - Aug. 1,1994, to July 31, 1995) will be holding tryouts. The team has a professional trainer, participates in three tournaments a year, and attends indoor winter camps and summer camps.
