Business Briefs A new McDonald's restaurant has come to Jackson. Located at 1136 East Veterans Highway (Route 528), the restaurant is one of the first McDonald's to feature a new building design and decor. It is estimated that the new McDonald's will provide approximately 40 new jobs to the community. This will be the 16th McDonald's restaurant for Harry and Linda Chap-man, who own and operate the largest McDonald's franchise organization (HHC Corp.) in New Jersey. McDonald's has been a family business for the Chapmans for 38 years. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Nov. 2, at which a donation in the amount of $1,000 will be presented to the Jackson Liberty High School parent-teacher group.

Supreme Computer and Electronic Recycling Company, Lakewood, will host a recycling event in recognition of the 10th anniversary of America Recycles Day and as a fundraiser for the Mental Health Association of New Jersey (MHA-NJ), Nov. 18, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the FirstEnergy Park parking lot, 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood. America Recycles Day is a nationwide awareness event held annually in November to encourage people to recycle and to buy recycled products. According to Charlie McFadden, project manager of Supreme Recycling, anything considered electronic waste or 'E-waste' such as computers, monitors, televisions, florescent bulbs, batteries of any kind, printers, key boards, cell phones, and even wires will be accepted. The cost is $5 a car load and $10 a truck load. Supreme Recycling will donate all proceeds to the Ocean County office of MHA-NJ and match funds up to $1,500. Call (732) 370-4100 for further information or to make special arrangements for boxed trucks or tractor trailers. Supreme Computer and Electronic Recycling Company has been in business since 1992. McFadden said the goal of the business is to keep E-waste - which contains toxic materials such as lead, cadmium, and beryllium - from going into landfills. Supreme Recycling does not generate any waste. They break all parts down and everything is either revitalized or reused in full compliance with all state and federal regulations. The company also wipes all hard drives clean in order to protect the security of those who donate computers.
