Radar units tell speed, they do not trap drivers

There seems to be a misconception how many think about speed control devices, such as radar. Radar is used by police officers to enforce state speed laws. The use of radar is often referred to as a speed trap. That assumption is totally incorrect.

The radar unit or police officer never "traps" anyone. It makes no difference where the unit is placed - it could be in the bushes or up a tree or in back of a sign - it would not be a trap.

Let's look at it realistically. If you were not speeding, you would not be stopped. Your vehicle tells how fast you are going. The radar unit does not make you speed. In reality, the officer is trying to save your life. Think about it.
