Kiwanis Club donates dictionaries to students

Each year children in the Lakewood public school system are presented with free dictionaries from the Kiwanis Club of Original Leisure Village in Lakewood.

The project was designed by member Ed Perk, who got the idea of giving out dictionaries from a school district in South Carolina.

This year's formal distribution ceremony was held on Nov. 15 at the Clifton Avenue Grade School.

Barney Zaro, Kiwanis representative, was on hand to distribute the dictionaries. He was accompanied by Betty Rank, whose husband left a provision in his will for the funding of the dictionaries.
