Howell couple honored by Diocese of Trenton

Joan and Hubert Mador of Howell received the Leadership Award for Respect Life Ministries at the third annual Appreciation Day organized by the Diocese of Trenton. The Madors were honored for their outstanding contributions over the years.

The couple became involved with the pro-life movement 28 years ago through their pastor at St. Veronica Parish, Howell. They formed several committees, one of which sponsors "A Time to Remember, A Time to Heal," a service for those who have lost a child through stillbirth, illness, miscarriage or abortion. The committee also hosts a seminar series covering topics such as embryonic stem cell research, the connection between abortion and breast cancer, and end-of-life issues.

The Madors have been married for 38 years and have five children and six grandchildren.
