| Ryan Totin, 14, tries to keep the ball in play during a teacher-student volleyball game at the Goetz Middle School, Jackson, on Dec. 8. The game was held to bring awareness to the issue of carbon monoxide safety and to raise money to purchase CO detectors to give out to people. The idea behind the event was generated by the students. Last year the Goetz school and the Jackson School District lost a student to carbon monoxide poisoning in his home.
