JACKSON — Police have arrested a township man and charged him with violations related to the possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Unidentified males, ages 16, 17 and 18, were arrested in related incidents.

According to police, an investigation regarding the distribution of marijuana was brought to a conclusion with several arrests made in the area of the Sixty Acres Reserve development.

Sgt. Steven Laskiewicz reported that detectives Mitch Cowit and Howard Bogan conducted an investigation after receiving several complaints regarding the alleged distribution of narcotics from 408 Owl’s Nest Court.

He said that on the evening of Dec. 4, the detectives and police officers Fred Meabe, Michael Kelly and Donald Lasko set up a surveillance of the house to check on persons going there to possibly purchase marijuana.

At about 8:30 p.m. Cowit and Lasko conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle leaving the residence and placed an 18-year-old resident of Butterfly Road under arrest for possession of marijuana. He was transported to headquarters, pro-cessed and released pending a court date.

A short time later, another vehicle which left the same address was stopped by Meabe and Kelly. During this stop a 17-year-old male resident of Freehold Road and a 17-year-old male resident of Rita Lane were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. Police Officer Edward Howe assisted with the arrest and the two teenagers were taken to headquarters, where they were processed and released to the custody of their parents. Juvenile complaints against the youths are pending at this time.

The investigation continued as Bogan, Sgt. Donald Clark and officers Joseph Candido, Eric Prosniewski, Meabe and Kelly went to Owl’s Nest Court to speak with residents.

Police said Bogan was granted consent to search the residence at 408 Owl’s Nest Court and during the search approximately 28 grams of a substance suspected of being marijuana was recovered, along with plastic bags, scales and drug paraphernalia.

The resident of the unit, Brian Lind-say, 54, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance believed to be marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.

Judge Daniel Sahin set bail on Lindsay at $100,000 and he was transported to the Ocean County jail, Toms River.

A 16-year-old male, also of Owl’s Nest Court, was in the residence at the time of Lindsay’s arrest and was taken into custody. The juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released to the custody of his mother.

Toms River Police Officer Ryan Maloney and K-9 Officer Maximus assisted with the search of the residence.
