BlueClaws will host job fair

LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood BlueClaws will host their annual job fair on Feb. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FirstEnergy Park, New Hampshire and Cedar Bride avenues, in the BlueClaws Executive Conference Center.

According to a press release from the BlueClaws, anyone who is interested in a part-time seasonal position on the game-day staff must come to the stadium to complete the application and interview process.

Possible jobs include a variety of concessions positions, attendants in the children's area and parking, as well as ushers and ticket-takers.

Applications are available on-line at www.BlueClaws.com or at FirstEnergy Park. Applications can be downloaded or picked up in advance, and then applicants can bring them to the job fair. There will also be applications available at the job fair to be filled out. All applicants will be interviewed by the BlueClaws staff.

"Hosting almost 450,000 people over the course of a summer is no small task. Every person who works with the BlueClaws adds something to the overall experience of taking in a game," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "We hope to get a great turnout at our job fair to get the best possible candidates to work with us this year."

All applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

The Lakewood BlueClaws are the single A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phil-lies. The BlueClaws are the defending South Atlantic League champions and will open the 2007 season on April 5 at FirstEnergy Park at 6:35 p.m. against the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

According to the press release, the BlueClaws have led the league in attendance every year, adding 448,310 fans in 2006. This season, the BlueClaws will become the fastest team in South Atlantic League and New Jersey baseball history to reach the 3 million fan attendance mark.
