Church will host debutante cotillion

The Macedonia Baptist Church of Lakewood will sponsor the Debutante and Escort Scholarship Cotillion April 7 at the Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant. The purpose of the event is to raise scholarship funds for local high school seniors. Doors will open at 11 a.m. Tickets are $45 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are available. All are welcome to attend and contribute to the nonprofit organization dedicated to helping leaders of tomorrow pursue their academic goals while providing a platform to introduce young adults into society. plans trip to theater

The Lakewood Community School is hosting a trip to the Sight and Sound Millennium Theater, Lancaster, Pa., to see the performance of "In the Begin-ning - The Story of Adam and Eve," May 3. The fee of $93 includes bus transportation, lunch at Shady Maple Restaurant, show and bus driver's gratuity.
