Wonser Macon

Wonser Leon Macon, 57, of Freehold, died March 12, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Birming-ham, Ala., he had lived in Howell prior to moving to Freehold 32 years ago. Mr. Macon was a taxi driver for Leon's Taxi, Englishtown for more than 10 years, retiring two years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Nettie Gray Kearney Macon; a son, Leon Macon Jr. of Freehold; two daughters, Calotta Macon and Tera Tate, both of Freehold; his parents, Robert Macon Sr. and Vera Sumerlin Macon, Freehold; two brothers, Bernard Macon, Birmingham, and Dwight Macon, Freehold; three sisters, Robbie Thomas and Valerie Fitzpatrick, both of Lakewood, and Marilyn Wynn, Freehold; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Old Ship of Zion Church, Englishtown, followed by interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Randall W. Knight

Mr. Knight, 56, of Howell, died Feb. 25, 2007, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Howell in 1986. He was a credit and collections manager for Wayside Technology Group Inc., Shrewsbury, for the past two years and had previously worked for Navieras at Raritan Center in Edison for 15 years. He was also a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Mr. Knight was predeceased by his parents, Doris and John W. Knight, and his in-laws, Nora and John Botts. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Diane Knight; a son, Andrew Knight of Howell; a daughter, Kelly Knight of Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Randy Knight of Ormond Beach, Fla.; family members Judith and Gerald Taranto (and family), Jack and Michelle Botts (and daughter), George and Karen Botts (and sons), and Dominic and Samantha Amoroso; and best friends Larry, Bill and Dave and their families. A funeral service was held at the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment was private.

Rosalia Bologna

Mrs. Bologna, 88, of Howell, died March 8, 2007, at Specialty Hospital at Kimball, located at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood. Born in Palermo, Italy, she had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before returning to Palermo. She had resided in Howell for the past 14 years and was a communicant of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church, Howell. Mrs. Bologna was predeceased by her husband, Stefano, in 1996. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Aldo and Lillian Bologna of Howell; a daughter, Joanna Bologna of Manalapan; three sisters, Maria, Nina and Elvira; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Veronica's Church, followed by entombment at St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, Marlboro.

Edith Cooper

Edith Cooper, 91, of Jackson, died March 6, 2007, at Care One at Jackson. Born in Malden, Mass., she had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., East Brunswick, and Howell before moving to Jackson in 2002. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. Mrs. Cooper was predeceased by her husband, John D. Cooper, in 2005; and two brothers, Alden Hills and Aubrey Hills. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John D. Cooper Jr. and Virginia of Aurora, Col.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Daniel Devine of Lakewood, and Barbara and George Helmers of Bel Air, Md.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. The Rite of Committal was at Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Entombment took place in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

Philip Jones

Philip Jones, 45, of Howell, died Feb. 24, 2007. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Linda. Services were held at Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.

Carolyn R. DiPrisco Carusotto

Mrs. Carusotto, 71, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Feb. 27, 2007, at home. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she resided there prior to relocating to Belford in 1965. She owned and operated Caroline Pizza Villa, Keansburg, for 37 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Pat DiPrisco. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Vincent Carusotto; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Deborah Carusotto of Keansburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Thomas Corcoran of Atlantic Highlands, and Carolyn Carusotto of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; three brothers, Gennaro DiPrisco of Port Monmouth, Peter Mosca of New York, and Richard Mosca of New Jersey; two sisters, Phyllis Krackomberger of Howell, and Dolores Pappaleo of the Bronx, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Church. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

George J. Aumock

Mr. Aumock, 73, of Virginia Beach, Va., died March 4, 2007, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach. He was born in Freehold and had lived there and in Jackson before moving to Virginia Beach in 1995. He graduated from Rider College, Lawrenceville, with a degree in accounting and was a senior vice president of finance at Backer Spielvogel Bates Worldwide, New York City, for more than 35 years. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and had been stationed in Annapolis, Md. Mr. Aumock was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda, and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jaried. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Adrienne Aumock; a son, George J. Aumock Jr. of Maurertown, Va.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Uher of Virginia Beach, and Cindy and Jack Matthews of Howell; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Free-hold Township.

John "Jack" Soule

Mr. Soule, 72, of Howell, died March 7, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and had lived in Springfield, Belleville and Jackson before moving to Howell in 2000. Prior to retiring in 2000, he was a warehouse worker in the shipping and receiving department of Moore Business Forms, Cranbury, for more than 10 years. He had also previously been a rate analyst at Ford Motor Co., Linden. Mr. Soule was a former member of the Jackson Elks Lodge. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Pero. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Soule; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Christina Soule of Andover; two granddaughters, Brianna and Jillian; and an aunt and uncle, Louise and Jerry Griffith of Verona, N.Y. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
