will be performed by the 45-member Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea, conducted by Father Alphonse Stephenson, at the Algonquin Arts Theater, 173 Main St., Manasquan, April 21 at 8 p.m. Based on the play "Le Roi S'amuse" by Victor Hugo, with music by Giuseppe Verdi and libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, the concert follows the story of Rigoletto, the court jester, as he bitterly plots to keep his daughter from loving a womanizing duke. The orchestra will host guest soloists for the key roles, and Father Alphonse will guide the audience through the mazes of the storyline so that the audience can fully understand the opera. Ticket prices range from $37 to $39 and can be purchased by calling (732) 528-9211 or visiting www.algonquinarts.org.
