Supporters made charity event in Jackson a success for young girl
"There was so much effort made on this child's behalf and the good people of Jackson didn't let us down."

As the president of the MOMS Club of Jackson East and a co-sponsor of the Easter egg hunt fundraiser for a 3-year-old Jackson girl who is battling leukemia, I want to thank everyone who gave so much of themselves to make our event such a great success.

Thank you to all the local merchants who generously donated valuable coupons that were used as prizes; to Sherry Cella of the Honky Tonk Zoo for bringing her ponies; to Sweetheart the Clown and Macaroni 'n Cheese for their clownmanship and face painting; to Rob and Robbie Zangarillo who sketched pictures for the kids; to the Jackson Women of Today who helped sell baked goods and donated beautiful gift baskets which were given away; to Debbie and Brittany Jones who helped the entire process run smoothly; to Kevin DiGesu who did an outstanding job grilling hot dogs and hamburgers; to Ed Logan of Classic Caterers who donated the grill, tents, tables and fixings for the barbecue; and to all the moms from the MOMS Club of Jackson East who donated their time and delicious cookies and brownies for this fundraiser.

I especially want to thank Mike Kafton who also sponsored the event and provided the beautiful venue, the White Butterfly. When I first approached Mike's office looking for help for this child I never expected the fantastic response that we received. He sprang into action lining up volunteers, soliciting local businesses, providing entertainment and enlisting the help of the media in publicizing the event.

There was so much effort made on this child's behalf and the good people of Jackson didn't let us down. We had a tremendous turnout and I can't thank everybody enough who braved the cold temperatures to come out to support us.

Jackson truly is a wonderful community and I'm so glad to be a part of it.
