Veterans will appreciate support for buddy poppy drive

The month of May starts the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America and its Ladies Auxiliary's buddy poppy drive. The funds go to support hospitalized war veterans.

Thousands of patients are bedridden for life, and others are destined to spend the rest of their days in wheelchairs. These conditions are multiplied as the result of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Our volunteer members give of their time freely. You may see them at storefronts or other locations within town. This year freewill donations are needed more than ever. VFW post members and Ladies Auxiliary members are most appreciative for the public's kind and generous support over the years for this very worthy cause. Thank you.
