Obituaries Phyllis F. Fantasia Hansen Mrs. Hansen, 59, of Eatontown, died April 10, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she resided in the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge 25 years, prior to relocating to Eatontown three years ago. She was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was employed at Eastern Dental, Parlin, for three years. She was a former communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. She is survived by three daughters, Erica Salicco of Howell, Christina Hansen of Old Bridge, and Donna Hansen of Eatontown; a son, Wally Hansen of Eatontown; a brother, Albert J. Fantasia of Las Vegas; and a grandson. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Eleanor R. Macesko Murray Mrs. Murray, 80, of Spotswood, died March 8, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Franklin V. Murray; two daughters, Karen Derechailo, and her husband, Steve, of East Brunswick and Lynn Ann Tommy, and her husband, Stanley, of Howell; three sons, Franklyn Jr., and his wife, Gayle, of Gainesville, Fla., Daniel, and his wife, JoAnn, of Langhorne, Pa., and Kevin, and his wife, Linda, of Clinton, Ark.; a brother, Joseph Macesko of Brick; two sisters, Mary Paterson of Jackson and Veronica Carpenter of Bayonne; eight grandchildren; a step-grandson; and a great-granddaughter. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015. Dominick Michael Viggiano Mr. Viggiano, 75, of Freehold Township, died April 10, 2007, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived there before moving to Freehold Township in 1970. He was a foreman with the Department of Sanitation for the City of New York for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He then worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in East Brunswick. Mr. Viggiano was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Viggiano; a son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Holly Viggiano of Jackson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene Viggiano and her husband, Brent Branley, of Sacramento, Calif., and Janine Strauss and her husband, Brian, of Colts Neck; a sister, Rose Fazio of Brooklyn; and five grandchildren. Deborah Galli Ms. Galli, 37, of Jackson, died March 9, 2007, at home. Born in Pequannock, she had lived in Hewitt, Marlboro and Freehold before settling in Jackson in 2002. She worked at Sunny Days childhood learning center, Manalapan. Ms. Galli was predeceased by her mother, Carol Lynch. She is survived by a son and two daughters, Daniel, Alexandra and Carol Ann Galli, all of Freehold; her father and stepmother, John and Gail Lynch of Marlboro; two brothers, Todd Lynch of Hamilton and John Lynch of Atlanta; three sisters, Dawn Lynch of Englishtown, Michelle Lynch of Jackson and Syril Lynch of Hamilton; two nephews, Michael and Jesse; and close friends Jack and Mary Flannery (and family) of Warren, and Gail and Alicia Bronski of Scotch Plains. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements. Jean Agrillo Mrs. Agrillo, 56, of Jackson, died April 14, 2007, after battling cancer. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in New Jersey since 1985 and in Jackson since 1987. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption, New Egypt section of Plumsted. Mrs. Agrillo was predeceased by her father, Raymond Powderly. Surviving are her husband, Leo Agrillo; a daughter, Laura Jean; her mother, Jean Powderly of Brooklyn; a sister, Debra Lamberti of Dix Hills, N.Y.; a brother, James Powderly of the Morganville section of Marlboro; a niece, Dana Lamberti; and two nephews, Anthony and Raymond Lamberti. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Joseph Farrell officiating. Interment followed at Assumption Cemetery, New Egypt. Ruth Shue Hastings Mrs. Hastings, 82, of Toms River, died April 10, 2007, at Kensington Manor, Toms River. Born in Lakewood, she had lived there before moving to Toms River in 1962. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Lakewood. Mrs. Hastings had been very active in the Lakewood YWCA youth group, as well as with Lakewood High School's Reunion Committee for the class of 1942. She was also an avid arts and crafter. She was predeceased by a son, Douglas Robert Hastings, in 1970. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Wayne Hastings; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie Hastings Troxell and John Earl Troxell of Medford Lakes, Burlington County; a sister, Betty Aptekar of Lakewood; two grandchildren, Danielle Lafferty and Victoria Gioioso; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at D'Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery, Toms River. LaGrega Mr. LaGrega, 67, of Aberdeen, died April 18 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Aberdeen the past 20 years. He was a compliance officer for various brokerage businesses for 35 years, retiring in 2002. He served with the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a communicant of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. He was predeceased by a son, Todd LaGrega in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Scotto LaGrega; a daughter and son-in-law, Darcy and Patrick Dilworth of Jackson; a son, Jeff LaGrega of Keyport; a daughter-pin-law, Kristin LaGrega of High Point, N.C.; two brothers, Joseph LaGrega of Pennsylvania, and John LaGrega of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Marino of Staten Island, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. Connie (Placco) Incorvia Mrs. Incorvia, 82, of Freehold, died April 10, 2007, at Bartley Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation, Jackson. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she had resided in Old Bridge before moving to Freehold. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Mrs. Incorvia was predeceased by her husband, Philip Incorvia, in 1984. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Nancy Incorvia of Iowa, Philip and Denise Incorvia of Connecticut, and Robert and Audrey Incorvia of Howell; three sisters, Marie, Josie and Martha; two brothers, Tony and Tom; five grandsons; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson. Funeral services were held at the Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Entombment took place at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick. LaNell "Nell" Wimberly Garris Mrs. Garris, 73, of Saratoga, N.C., died March 20, 2007. Raised in Alabama, she settled in Wilson, N.C. She attended Wildwood Free Will Baptist Church, Wilson. Mrs. Garris was predeceased by two brothers, Rudolf Wimberly and Wilson Thomas. She is survived by two sons and five daughters, including Stephanie G. O'Connor and her husband, Timothy, of Jackson; two brothers, Perry Thomas Jr. and Milton Wimberly; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A private family burial was held in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Anna Sweetman Mrs. Sweetman, 92, formerly of Lakewood, died April 13, 2007. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Lakewood for most of her life before moving to Weaverville, N.C., six years ago. She was a former member of Ardena Baptist Church in Howell. Mrs. Sweetman was predeceased by her husband, William Littleton, in 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Hunt of Weaverville; three grandchildren, Robert Rao of Arizona, William Rette of the New Egypt section of Plumsted, and Guy Rette of Florida; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside committal service was held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. T. Doug Gillespie Mr. Gillespie, 79, of the Adelphia section of Howell, died April 2, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Mortlach, Canada, he moved to the U.S. in 1937. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he worked in the special maintenance department at the Monmouth County Park System for 15 years. Prior to that, he worked for Freehold Ford (formerly Cameron Roberson Ford) as an auto mechanic and later as a service manager until 1976. He attended Freehold area schools. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Gillespie was sent to Europe, where he was attached to Graves Registration as an identification analyst. He was a member of the Adelphia Fire Company, Howell, joining in 1953 and serving actively for many years, and a member of American Legion Post 54 in Freehold. Mr. Gillespie was predeceased by three sisters, three brothers and three nephews. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia (Louquet) Gillespie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Garrett Sague of Beachwood, and Laurieanne and Carl Patterson of the Ardena section of Howell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Valerie Gillespie of Brielle, and Thomas D. and Alison Gillespie of Coopersburg, Pa.; and seven grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment in Ardena Cemetery, Howell. Julia G. Novak Mrs. Novak, 66, of Manchester Township, died April 4, 2007, at home. Born in Gyor, Hungary, she arrived in the U.S. in 1956 and had lived in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Perth Amboy and East Windsor before moving to Manchester in 2006. Mrs. Novak had worked for American Can Co., Edison, for 14 years before retiring in 1989. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ava and Alfred Papetti of Colts Neck, and Anna and Richard McDermott of Jackson; a brother, Frank Kovacs of Florida; and six grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment in Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements. James L. Welch Mr. Welch, 77, of Old Bridge, died March 18, 2007, at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Alberta Joell Welch. Surviving are five sons, Robert A. Welch of Edison, Thomas D. Welch, and his wife, Ellaura, and Jeffrey G. Welch, and his wife, Kathy, all of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, James E. Welch, and his wife, Ann, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Michael S. Welch, and his wife, Deanna Welch, of Anna, Texas; three daughters, Colleen A. Wuelfing, and her husband, Karl, of Lancaster, Pa., and Linda D. Mahan and Margaret J. Davidson, both of Linden; a sister, Leona McGuire of Howell; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his best friend, May Boyce. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
Gladys Wickham Mrs. Wickham, 75, of Jackson, died April 6, 2007. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Nicolasa and Francisco Maldonado, she grew up in Brooklyn and had lived in Hazlet, Kentucky, Japan and Newark before settling in Jackson in 1956. She moved to Starke, Fla., in 2002 for a brief stay and then returned to Jackson to rejoin her growing family. Mrs. Wickham held positions at several companies, including RCA, Westinghouse and Paco Manufacturing. She retired in 1997 from her husband's construction business, A-All-In-One Services, Jackson. She served as president of both the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the AMVETS Post 2 Ladies Auxiliary, as well as den mother to Cub Scout Pack 28, all of Jackson. She was also a member of the Jackson and New Jersey Jayceettes. Mrs. Wickham was predeceased by two sisters, Ramona and Jeanette. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Kenneth G. Wickham Sr.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Jan Wickham, Keith Wickham, and Kevin and Susan Wickham, all of Jackson; a sister, Frances of Freehold; a brother, Robert of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, Jackson, with the procession to Cassville Cemetery led by the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company. Charlotte R. Dixon Mrs. Dixon, 72, of Omaha, Neb., died April 4, 2007, at Immanuel Heritage Center, Omaha. Born in Jersey City, she had resided in Freehold before moving to Omaha one year ago. She was a secretary for C.N.A. Insurance Co., Cranbury, prior to her retirement in 1996. Mrs. Dixon was a former member of the Reformed Church of Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas C. Dixon, in 2006; and a brother, Charles Small. She is survived by a son, Charles Dixon of Howell; and a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Edward Smith of Omaha. A funeral service was held at the Reformed Church of Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Chelli Mr. Chelli, 81, of Howell, died April 6, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Exeter, Pa., he had lived in East Brunswick for 30 years before moving to the Surrey Downs section of Howell in 1986. Mr. Chelli was an inspector for General Motors, Linden, for 32 years, retiring in 1985. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. A U.S. Army veteran, he served as a sergeant in the military police during World War II in northern France. Mr. Chelli is survived by his wife, Lucy Dominick Chelli; a son, Alfred Chelli of Jackson; three daughters, Mary Ellen Speciale of East Brunswick, Laura Saker of Millstone, and Elaine Zullo of Hightstown; a sister, Lena Faiollace of Philadelphia; and seven grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine's, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. McNamee Mr. McNamee, 71, of Howell, died April 2, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, he moved to Howell in 1973. Mr. McNamee was a parishioner of The Church of St. Veronica, Howell. He was a custodian with the Freehold Regional School District for 16 years where he was the union president for Region No. 9 New Jersey Education Association, Long Branch. Prior to that, he was an armed security guard with Brinks until 1984. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Coyle, in 1986. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Lucy McNamee; four sons, Brian McNamee and his wife, Roni, of Brick; Neal McNamee of Jackson and his companion, Joan; Daniel McNamee of Freehold Township and his fiancée, Jenifer; and Dermot McNamee and his wife, Stacy, of Howell; two daughters, Elizabeth Oldham and her husband, Rich, of Jackson; and Maura Emery and her husband, Ryan, of Garnet Valley, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Bernie Coyle; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
