Photographic Portraits, by Susan Roche of Marlboro will be on exhibit at the Marlboro Branch of the Monmouth County Library, 1 Library Court and Wyncrest Drive, Marl-boro, from May 26 to June 27. Details: (732) 536-9406.

Roche's photography has graced the pages of Babytalk Magazine and several New Jersey papers. Her children's images have won numerous awards and have been created into collector items. Roche's photographs have also been exhibited in Manhattan and the tristate area. She has been photographing babies, children and families for over 18 years.

The Monmouth County Arts Council (MCAC) will present the New Jersey premiere of " Paprika ," the latest feature-length film by Satoshi Kon, highly regarded Japanese director of anime films. The film is described as a psychologically complex film with realistic characters that blurs fantasy and reality.

The public is invited to view "Paprika" May 24 at Clearview Cinema, 36 White St., Red Bank, at 7 p.m. Prior to the film, MCAC will host a reception with cash bar at Danny's Steak House & Seafood, 11 Bridge Ave., Red Bank, at 5 p.m. Ticket prices are: $40 for MCAC members, $45 for nonmembers and $10 for film only. Proceeds of the event will help the MCAC match a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts that benefits the MCAC's local arts programs.

The Monmouth County Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the county by providing resources to support, inspire and foster the growth and development of the arts.

In the spirit of the Memorial Day holiday Ocean Grove will kick off its summer entertainment season with a free concert by the Atlantic Wind Ensemble titled "Stars and Stripes, a Patriotic Concert," 8 p.m. May 26 at the Great Auditorium located at Pilgrim and Ocean pathways in Ocean Grove. Under the direction of Harry D. Eichhorn, this year's program will feature military anthems, marches, Broadway show tunes and film scores, and classical music performed by the 42-piece ensemble.

The Atlantic Wind Ensemble is the professional wing of the popular Ocean Grove Summer Band, with a roster of more than 40 musicians from Juilliard, Temple and Rutgers universities and the United States Navy School of Music. Eight members are directors of local school bands in New Jersey.
