Vendors, performers sought for Plumsted summer arts festival

PLUMSTED - Fine artists, performing artists, creative writers and poets are encouraged to gather to share the arts July 7, 3-10 p.m. during the Plumsted Council for the Arts seventh annual Rockin' Fireworks Concert and Arts Fest.

Professional and amateurs, crafters, creators and musicians are all welcome to come together and share their interests with others. All are welcome to sit down and play a tune or show off a painting, sculpture, etc. Last year more than 10,000 people attended the event, according to a press release.

Vendor spaces are available for commercial artists, retailers, food and attractions. Promotional spaces for business and organizations are available, too.

The day's events will culminate with a concert and fireworks display. The feature act this year will be the 1910 Fruitgum Company with hits from the 1960s such as "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy," "Simple Simon Says," "Indian Giver" and "1-2-3 Red Light."

Also featured will be Jim Yester, the original lead singer and founder of The Association ("Cherish," "Windy" and "Along Comes Mary") with YesterDaze.

Singer and composer John Cantamessa will also be back by popular demand this year.

For more information call (609) 758-2144 or send an e-mail to PlumstedArtsCouncil@comcast.net with name and address. Forms can be downloaded at www.plumstedartscouncil.org.

The rain date will be July 8.
