Professional services pacts are awarded JACKSON - The Jackson Board of Education has awarded professional firms contracts that will cover various services in the school district. All of the professional services contracts were awarded by the board without competitive bidding pursuant to state law, according to legal notices published by the school district in a daily newspaper. Environmental Design Inc., was awarded a contract for an amount not to exceed $60,000 for environmental services. The contract covers air sampling and environmental fees for work in the science wing and during other renovations in Jackson Memorial High School. The contract began on March 27 and has an undetermined end date, according to information provided by school district officials. The firm of Faridy, Veisz, Fraytak, of Trenton, was awarded a contract in the amount of $60,350 for architectural services. The firm will oversee design work and construction of a maintenance building at Jackson Liberty High School. The contract began on March 27 and has an undetermined end date. Schoor DePalma, of Brick Township, was awarded a contract in the amount of $56,000 for engineering services. The firm will develop specifications and plans for lighting, fencing, site work and the construction of irrigation wells at Jackson Liberty High School. A representative of Schoor DePalma will oversee the construction project after a contract for the work has been awarded by the school board, according to school district officials. The contract began on March 27 and has an undetermined end date. The school board also awarded a contract to Dr. Alan Cabaso of Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, in the amount of $25,000. The contract runs from July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2008. Cabaso will conduct sports physicals for middle school and high school students; he will conduct physicals for students who are applying for working papers; and he will conduct physicals for kindergarten pupils who do not have a family doctor, among other duties, according to information provided by school district officials.
