It is time for Jackson Tea Party members to open their eyes I could not believe my eyes when I read the June 21 letter from a member of the Jackson Tea Party, Bernard Wohlstetter. He complained about the waste of money spent to reconstruct "Aldrich Road." Well Mr. Wohlstetter, open your eyes. The road under construction is Bennetts Mills Road. You must be a newer resident otherwise you would have known that. The road is still under con-struction. Most construction projects are done in phases. Obvious-ly the first phase of this project was from the spillway to Manhat-tan Street. The road was widened and sidewalks were added, making it safer. There is no need to have more than two lanes of traffic there. Ask most residents that have to make turns into their driveways if the construction was an improvement. I'm sure they will say yes. Open your eyes. The jughandle is still there and under construction. Open your eyes. The road is under the jurisdiction of Ocean County. The con-struction costs are being paid for by all the residents of Ocean County, not just Jackson. What will your next complaint be? The four-way stop intersection at Hyson and Harmony roads that has reduced the crashes at that dangerous intersection? Or will it be the Ocean County road widening project on North County Line Road? Your letter did more to hurt the efforts of the Jackson Tea Party. If all of the members drive around Jackson with their eyes closed like you, I want no part of your tea party.
