Road work looks like an improvement to resident This letter is in response to the recent letter to the editor "Con-struction Project Is No Improve-ment" (Tri-Town News, June 21). I realize that the construction project on Aldrich Road (Jackson) has taken a long time, but I don't believe it is as bad as the previous writer states. Does he not remember the horrible state of the road before the construction began? Does he not remember that one of the primary reasons for the project was to replace the deteriorating dam? The construction crews have actually done a good job of keeping the road passable at all times. If you want to complain about something, complain about the horrible job done on Veterans Highway - now that is a disaster that has yet to be corrected. What good would a three-lane or four-lane road be in this area? People living on both sides of Aldrich Road wouldn't be able to exit their own homes in a safe manner. The writer asks about the missing jughandle. Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like a jughandle has been constructed behind CVS. I am hopeful that some of the congestion will be alleviated when the new traffic signals are complete. I'm afraid that whatever the final product is, we will still have some traffic backup due to the increase in population and automobile traffic. With increased population comes the need for better roads - just look at County Line Road.
