• A fish fry sponsored by the New Egypt Elks, 105 Lakewood Road, Plumsted, will be held Sept. 14, 6-8 p.m. at the lodge. The cost for a fish dinner is $9 (two pieces) and $10 (three pieces). • Jackson United Methodist Church, 68 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, invites the community to a night of family friendly entertainment with music, food and drinks, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Paul Raucci, a Christian rock musician, will provide the entertainment. • The Sons of Amvets will host its seventh annual pig roast, Sept. 15 from 1-6 p.m. (rain or shine) at Amvets Post 2, 1290 Toms River Road (Route 571), Jackson. • Jackson residents can meet Mayor Mark Seda to ask questions and share concerns at the Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 19 and Oct. 17. This program is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary. Details: (732) 928-4400.

• The Plumsted Branch of the Ocean County Library will host a program by Apple Annie Productions about the ancient art of Ebru, better known as Paper Marblizing. The Ocean County Retired Educators Association will hold its fall meeting and luncheon Oct. 11 at the Claflin House at the Lakewood Country Club, Lakewood.
