Susan D. Semrad

Mrs. Semrad, 83, of Howell, died Aug. 31, 2007, at home. Born in Madera, Pa., she had lived in Long Island, N.Y., and in Lakewood before moving to Howell a few weeks ago. She was employed for 32 years by the New York Telephone Co., New York City, retiring as a custom relations manager in 1985. Mrs. Semrad was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and also sang with the Glenn Miller Orchestra during the 1940s. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1995. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Anthony Gerbasi, with whom she had lived; a sister, Mary Mayer of Farmingdale, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Frank, Danielle and Nicole Gerbasi. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment was private.
