Chamber series will focus on 'Strategies for Success'
The Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce is now accepting registrations for its management symposium "Strategies for Success." The symposium is a four-part series which will begin on Nov. 16. The chamber has partnered with Brookdale Community College and Rutgers Center for Management Development to bring this opportunity to the business community.

Created by the Women in Business Committee of the chamber, the series is designed to inspire business owners and managers to create and sustain their business vision. The management symposium will foster and implement the mission of the chamber by "Educating, Enhancing, and Empowering for Excellence."

The management symposium will provide information and dialogue for business owners and managers to help them: enhance the mission of their company; handle staff issues effectively; design achievable goals; promote team performance; adjust to emerging markets in order to sustain profitability; and develop communication skills that will enhance morale.

Chamber members and nonmembers are invited to take advantage of this new opportunity. The series will be held in the state-of-the-art conference center at the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus at CentraState Medical Center, 901 W. Main St., Freehold Township.

Several local companies have demonstrated their support of the symposium by sponsoring the series. Among those currently sponsoring the management symposium are Lomurro, Davison, Eastman and Muñoz; Wegmans Food Markets Inc.; Paul=Mark Printing; and Creative Publicity Resources. Also sponsoring the series are Mid Atlantic Resource Group, LLC; Merrill Lynch; and UBS.

In addition, Branches Catering; Investors Savings Bank; Koval Associates, LLC; PNC Bank; and Stewart Title of Central Jersey Inc., are also sponsoring the series. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Attorney Allison C. Williams, of Lomurro, Davison, Eastman and Muñoz, will be the moderator for the series.

The first program is "Establishing Your Dream Team" and will include insights on establishing and maintaining the culture of your firm; hiring, training and retaining qualified staff; recognizing and rewarding your employees; and resolving conflicts.

Subsequent sessions will be held in January, March and May 2008. The cost of attending a single session is $30 for chamber members and $40 for nonmembers. By registering for the symposium as a whole, a discount is available: $100 for members and $135 for nonmembers. Each session will run from 7:30-10:30 a.m. and will begin with a networking breakfast, followed by presentations from a panel of experts, and concluding with a questionand answer session.
