James M. Pettit

Mr. Pettit, 72, of Jackson, died Oct. 25, 2007, at home. Born in Oceanside, N.Y., he had resided in Jackson for the past 25 years. Mr. Pettit was a financial analyst for Ansell Healthcare, Red Bank, before his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a communicant of St. Robert Bellmarine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of a prayer group in Marlboro and a prayer group in Spring Lake. Surviving are his wife, Carol O'Prandy Pettit; two sons and a daughter-inlaw, Raymond and Tonya Pettit of Alabama, and Dan Pettit of Chicago; a daughter and sonin law, Sandy and Ray Barth of Kansas; two stepsons, Stephen Kinder and Robert Kinder (and wife Carol), of Jackson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara and Duke Schaeffer of Colorado, and Marion Snekenburg of Hicksville, N.Y.; and 17 grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Orphans of Uganda, c/o St. Catherine's Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ 07762.
