Jackson officials have stumbled, but they still have time to recover Right off the bat our mayor gets a 300 percent raise, we get a 32 percent tax increase, the gypsy moth debacle, our appointed township attorney drops out of a political race because of not paying taxes, Johnson Park's Butterfly Road access road embarrassment. As well as people being interrupted and humiliated at public meetings by our administration, etc. What I'm getting at, it's very obvious things have not gone well with this administration. First and foremost, they must remember they have been given a privilege, and that privilege can be taken away just as fast. So saying and writing things like Jackson is a better place to live because you helped get a deer carcass removed from a property does nothing but insult our intelligence as a voting public. It's unethical and pathetic when an underachieving administration claims everyone's a liar, it's everyone else's fault, and not own up one bit to any mistakes or bad decisions thus far. Trying to snow the public to maintain positions you have so far underachieved at is wrong. You have given Jackson residents no reason to be pleased thus far, but the opportunity is still there to try to do what's best for our township and its people first. I really hope you do, then you can toot your horns all you want. The voting public will take it from there. Jeff Nemeth Jackson |
