Live Nativity to be held at church in Jackson

Jr. firefighters collecting aluminum recyclables
      The Adelphia Fire Company Junior Firefighters are collecting aluminum recyclables to raise funds for the St. Barnabas Burn Center's Aluminum Cans for Burned Children program. All donations can be dropped off at the Adelphia Fire Company, Route 524 in the Adelphia section of Howell.

Howell High School art teacher earns grant
      John Carey, a Howell High School art teacher, has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. The money will be used for a guest speaker and to increase the figure drawing capabilities of the art department.

Special event will benefit Howell mom
      A night of shopping, food, fun, drinks and more will be held on Dec. 7. According to a press release, Lori Newman is a Howell mom who was recently diagnosed with Reflex Systematic Disorder. Newman has four children. Her friends are hosting a benefit to help with her medical and living expenses.

Pajamas being collected for children
      Some children are so in need that they do not own a pair of pajamas. They sleep in their clothes or in their underwear. This fact became nationally known when Genevieve Piturro appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" five years ago to explain her experience giving new pajamas to children in shelters.
