Newspaper article well done, appreciated This article and photograph was published on Oct. 4 in the Tri-Town News. Titled "Operation Isaiah 5768 (Hebrew year 5768), this mitzvah (good deed) takes its name from the prophet Isaiah and the accompanying Biblical passage, Isaiah: 58:6-7: "Is not this fast I have chosen to feed the hungry …" In this case "the hungry" were the residents of Jackson whose food pantry was destroyed by an Aug. 29 fire. In Jewish tradition it is incumbent upon Hebrew people to perform mitzvahs in an effort to carry out the mission of "tikkun olam" (repairing the world). And in this case the mitzvah was carried out to benefit the residents of Jackson. Once again, "todah rabah" (thank you very much) for the Tri-Town News' excellent human interest story.
