      Kimball Mega Raffle tickets on sale now
            LAKEWOOD — Kimball Medical Center Foundation is selling tickets for a new 50/50 raffle, the 2009 Mega Raffle. Mega Raffle tickets are on sale now through April 30 for $100 each. A maximum of 1,500 tickets will be sold. The grand prize, if all tickets are purchased, will be $75,000. The actual prize will depend on the total number of tickets sold.

      Police to host charity event to aid families
            The Jackson Police Benevolence Association Local 168 and the Jackson School District will co-host a volleyball and dodge ball event to raise funds for the families of Jackson students displaced by a recent fire at the Regency Club Apartments on South New Prospect Road, Jackson. The event will take place on Nov. 13 beginning at 6 p.m.

      Class to offer recipes for Holiday cookies
            LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Community School will host a holiday cookie baking class from 7-9:30 p.m. Dec. 2-3 at Lakewood High School, 855 Somerset Ave, Lakewood. Enjoy hands-on instruction and take home recipes and a tin of cookies. (Participants must bring a cookie tin.) Registration for the two-night class is currently in progress. The fee to attend is $15.

      Jackson church offers music, Living Nativity
            Jackson United Methodist Church, 68 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, will present family-friendly Christian music the third Saturday of each month at 7 p.m. (music starts at 7:30 p.m.). A free-will offering is the only charge to attend.

      Bartley Healthcare hosting food drive
            JACKSON — A food drive is being conducted through Nov. 17 at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. Donations will benefit the Jackson Food Pantry. Items needed for the food drive include canned fruit and vegetables, boxed cereal and mixes, coffee, tea and other drinks, canned soup, dry and canned pasta, and snacks.

      Registration under way for CSI workshop
            The Lakewood Community School is accepting registration for a one-night workshop, "CSI New York," to be held at Lakewood High School 6:30-9 p.m. Dec. 3. The instructor, a graduate of the FBI National Academy with over 35 years of experience as a detective supervisor, will discuss what takes place at a crime scene and what detectives do during an investigation.

      Teens may sign up for ski & snowboard club
            HOWELL — Registration is currently being accepted for a Ski/Snowboard Club for teenagers in grades 7-12 who reside in Howell. The partially supervised program will feature trips to a variety of ski/snowboard resorts. The cost to register is $100. Additional fees will be charged to cover the cost of each trip. Registration will be accepted through Nov.
