Jackson jazz bands to compete in jazz festival

The Jackson Memorial High School and Jackson Liberty High School jazz bands will compete at the Steinert Jazz Festival at Steinert High School, 2900 Klockner Road, Hamiltion, on March 15.

All are welcome to attend the Jazz Fest, which will begin promptly at 5 p.m.

Jazz bands from Montgomery High School, Willingboro High School, Nottingham High School, Hamilton High School- West, Grice Middle School, Reynolds Middle School and Steinert High School will also perform.

The festival will conclude with a special performance featuring DennisWasko, a Steinert alumnus, and the University of the Arts Faculty Sextet. Wasko, an adjunct assistant professor, also chairs the trumpet department at UArts School of Music in Philadelphia. His résumé includes performances with the Thad Jones- Mel Lewis Orchestra, Doc Severinsen and Henry Mancini.
