Environment will be topic of meeting

JACKSON - A meeting of the Environmental Subcommittee of the Jackson Planning Board will be held on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jackson municipal building, 95 West Veterans Highway.

The purpose of the meeting is to commence the Environmental Subcommittee's work with respect to the Jackson master plan, which is currently being reviewed by the Planning Board.

According to a press release from the Planning Board, members of the public are encouraged and invited to attend the March 24 meeting to express their environmental concerns and to give any input for this portion of the master plan review.

Planning Board Chairman Kenneth Bressi said the master plan review is an important process and the environmental concern in Jackson is a key issue that must be examined carefully. He said residents are encouraged to be a part of the due process of this important work and are invited to attend and to participate.

A master plan is the document that guides a municipality's growth and development. There are several elements that make up the master plan. The master plan is reviewed every six years by municipal officials and updated or changed as needed to reflect changes in the way officials want the community to develop.
