Lakewood art students among contest winners The following Lakewood High School students were recognized for their work in the area of visual arts in the Ocean County Teen Arts Festival: Alejandro Mota for "Lovers' Embrace" (white pastel pencil on a black velvet paper), and Oscar Pastrana for "Flashback from Vietnam" (scratchboard). Both students were awarded a place in the state Teen Arts Festival. Their work will be on display in Trenton along with other winners chosen throughout the state. Ariceli Campos' "Artist's Studio Dream Home," Jessica Bankel's "Ceramic Piece in the Style of Henry Moore" and Renee Alvarado's "Female Torso" garnered honorable mention recognition. All three pieces were done in clay. |
