Chain Reaction, a barbershop quartet of the Sweet Adelines, will perform for the Howell Historical Society at 8 p.m. April 25 at Howell town hall, 252 Preventorium Road, Howell. Refreshments will be served. Free concert. All are welcome. Details: (732) 938-2212.

• A comedy night will take place April 26 at the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company, 785 Miller Ave., Jackson. The show will feature acts by J. Gemini Lombardi and headliner John Pizzi. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 9 p.m. No one under age 21 will be admitted. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased any Tuesday night from 7-10 p.m. at the firehouse or by calling (732) 928- 3054. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. A cash bar will be available.

The Past Times Bluegrass Band will perform at the DeBows United Methodist Church, corner of Route 571 and Route 537, Jackson,April 26 at 6 p.m. The evening will include a full dinner. A spaghetti night to benefit 180 Turning Lives Around, an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault, will be held April 28 at the Chapter House restaurant, 1454 Route 9, Howell. A fishing contest will be conducted by the Ocean County Department of Recreation May 3, rain or shine, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration will be held at the Lake Shenandoah County Park boat house, Route 88, Lakewood. Contestants may fish in any of Ocean County's freshwater lakes and rivers. Prizes will be awarded from 2:30-3 p.m. Fee: $2 for children, $4 for adults.
