Deadline is April 25 for annual kayak race

The deadline to sign up for the 38th Manasquan River Canoe and Kayak Race is April 25. This annual Monmouth County Park System event slated for May 10 will begin at Howell Park Golf Course, Howell, and end at the Hospital Road Canoe Landing Area. The 5.87-mile route features varied widths, depths, twists, turns, obstacles, strainers and portages and is for experienced paddlers only. The fees are $22 per solo canoe/kayak and $32 per tandem canoe. The cost includes a Tshirt and post-race refreshments. A limited number of tandem canoe and sit-on-top kayak rentals are available at $22 per boat. Rentals include personal flotation device and paddle.
