Procession will be held at St. Veronica's Church

HOWELL - St. Veronica Church, Route 9 north, will conduct its fourth annual Corpus Christi Procession onMay 25 at approximately 1:20 p.m., following the noon Mass.

The Corpus Christi Procession will begin on the mall area across from the church led by St. Veronica's pastor, the Rev. BrendanWilliams, and the 2008 communicants.

More than 200 parishioners, people from neighboring parishes and communicants have participated in past processions, led in song and praise by St. Veronica's music ministries. according to a press release.

"What better follow-up to the historic visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the United States than to celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi, also known as the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, with Masses, novenas, special devotions, and religious processions as one of the main public proclamations of the institution of the Holy Eucharist," said Williams.

Other parishes are welcome to participate, the pastor said.

Once the Blessed Sacrament is returned to the tabernacle, the celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi will continue with an old-fashioned church picnic on the mall area, complete with food, music, games, fun and fellowship.
