Four charged with using stolen credit card at park JACKSON- Four people were arrested at the Six Flags Great Adventure theme park, Route 537, on June 10 and charged with credit card theft, fraudulent use of credit cards and a variety of other charges. According to Jackson police, the suspects are Prince Ramirez, 20, and Marylin Ramirez, 27, who both reside on 114th Street, in Richmond Hill, N.Y.; Jose A. Rosario, 23, of Hemlock Street, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Vanessa Soriano, 23, of Cornelia Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. Police provided the following account of the incident that led to the arrests: "On June 10 at 4:20 p.m. Jackson Police Officer Derek Gorski responded to a call fromSix Flags GreatAdventure on a report that a stolen credit card was being used inside the theme park. "The stolen American Express card, which belonged to an East Brunswick resident, was reported stolen to the East Brunswick Police Department earlier the same day and was taken in connection with the theft of a 2004 Lexus sedan." Police said the cardholder was contacted by American Express and advised that the card was being used at Great Adventure. Upon his arrival at Great Adventure, Gorski located the stolen 2004 Lexus, which was unoccupied and parked in the preferred parking lot. Jackson police officers maintained surveillance of the vehicle while Six Flags security personnel provided police with a description of the suspects who were using the stolen credit card. At about 7:15 p.m. the four suspects, two men and two women, departed the theme park after purchasing season passes. Police said they were taken into custody as they approached the stolen 2004 Lexus. Found in their possession at the time of their arrest were bags filled with sunglasses, clothing, cell phones and assorted souvenirs that were alleged to have been purchased with the stolen credit card. The suspects were subsequently charged with a variety of crimes. Prince Ramirez was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, credit card theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of a controlled dangerous substance believed to be marijuana, and criminal mischief. Bail was set at $30,000 and he was lodged in the Ocean County jail, Toms River. Marylin Ramirez was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, credit card theft, fraudulent used of a credit card, theft and criminal mischief. Bail was set at $10,000 and she was lodged in the Ocean County jail, Toms River. Rosario was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. Because Rosario was in violation of a New York State Order of Protection, his bail was set at $52,500 and he was lodged in the Ocean County jail. Soriano was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. Bail was set at $10,000 and she was lodged in the Ocean County jail. |
